My story with intestinal deficiencies and inflammation.

I apologize in advance for sharing quite personal information in this blog post, but I promise it's for educational purposes and has a happy ending :)

How the awakening to seek information began
Six years ago, I became a mother for the first time, and from that day on, my body changed internally and externally. Let's just say I'm never the same as before, and that's what motherhood is all about: mourning who you've ceased to be. But this isn't a post about motherhood; it's simply the beginning of the story I'm going to tell you because it has something to do with the ending.

Ten months after giving birth to Isabella, my first daughter, I became pregnant again and lost the baby at approximately 5 or 6 weeks. Three years ago, I began a diligent search for my second child. Again, in this second pregnancy, I lost the baby. My head became clouded with sadness, questions, and doubts, and that day I decided to find the answer to what was happening to me. Why was it happening to me for the second time?

Looking for solutions, I then began supplementing with a product called Fertility Support, which contains folic acid, B12, and myo-inositol. This product had been recommended to me because it worked wonders and was effective for women who were having trouble getting pregnant. Honestly, I didn't ask and just started taking it because it was a harmless vitamin that would be good for me anyway.

Expert Hand Guide
When I began my search, I fell into the hands of Dr. Roberto Epifanio, who told me that what I had seemed to be a hormonal imbalance and that if so, the supplement I was already taking would help me. I honestly didn't understand how I, someone so dedicated to my health, could have some kind of imbalance. After the loss, during this month of searching, I began sharing some details on my social media about what I was doing in case this information would help anyone else. With these details, I also shared that my trips to the bathroom (I know, TMI, but it's necessary) had been strange for a long time, and that my number 2 always floated and never sank. I'll pause here to tell you that I've actually always suffered from constipation since I was little and for 13 years I've been taking probiotics; otherwise, I can't go at all. Continuing on the topic, many people on social media started telling me that the same thing was happening to them, and others told me that I was most likely eating too much fiber or perhaps not absorbing fats.

Without knowing the solution, the story gets complicated.
The search ceased because I became pregnant with my second daughter, Sophia, after completing the month-long supplement package. Just as the doctor had told me, the supplement had worked to counteract my deficiencies. I didn't investigate further because I was focused on the pregnancy, but the "floating bowel movements" issue still persisted. The strangest thing was that no matter how much I tried to eat more fiber or fat, take supplements, or hydrate, nothing seemed to change the outcome. During pregnancy, my bowels slowed down even more, which led to extreme constipation (I needed more than one enema), extreme sickness, and itching. Conclusion: nothing seemed to work.

I finally gave in and the day of giving birth to my beautiful Sophia arrived and my bowel movements became regular again... but the "floating toilet seat" issue remained the same.

Unexplained symptoms: Hormones?
During my postpartum period, I suffered from very itchy skin. I did a sugar detox and radically changed my diet. I felt some change in my bathroom habits by eliminating pro-inflammatory foods. My energy and mood improved noticeably, and above all, my concentration improved, but nothing radical about the "floating bathroom breaks." My biggest fear was that I might have some kind of deficiency that could worsen my health over time.

Target Shooting Finally!
A few months ago, I fell into the hands of Trees Smart, on the recommendation of a very good friend, to get an epigenetic test. It's a test where they take a strand of your hair and analyze your genes to measure your deficiencies and alterations caused by different factors such as food, environment, stress, among other things. To my surprise, I found that I was deficient in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fatty acids. FATTY ACIDS!!!!!! Eurekaaaaaaa!!!!!!

The epigenetic test had hit the nail on the head with what had been happening to me for so many years and I didn't know what it was!!! The test showed that I was having signs of leaky gut due to a high intake of different foods that were causing sensitivity and that, combined with a high concentration of bacteria and fungi, was causing me to not absorb nutrients as I should, including vitamins like inositol and the aforementioned fatty acids. The same fatty acids that made "my trips to the bathroom float"!!! and the same inositol that I needed and that, by supplementing with it, helped me get pregnant while looking for Sophia! AHA! How many years did it take me to realize this? It took me two birds with one stone to get the result.

The solution
I underwent a supplementation and detox process of gluten, barley, rye, corn and some other common foods that I never thought I would develop sensitivities to, such as chicken, papaya and red apple, guided by one of their specialists and a month later I can tell you that my condition has improved remarkably! It's been very little time yet, this is a process that takes more time but it seems like we're on the right track and now after so many years I finally understand that everything starts in the intestine. I always knew it, I promoted it... but finally I had to experience it firsthand to truly understand it properly. This is why the detox I did a year ago improved me, of course it did, but I needed to add all the other information that this test gave me to really put my intestinal health in balance.

How can I find out more?
We'll be seeing this and more in the Fit With No Sugar challenge, which is kicking off on January 20th. I have the honor of sharing that Trees Smart will be participating in a challenge with me for the first time. This can't just be limited to me and the people who come to the center through referrals. This needs to be known all over the world, and it starts with you... with you living it and changing your life.

What do you say? Do you also dare to discover the result of the formula you've been searching for? Let me know in the comments below what you thought of this post and if you feel it helped you have an "AHA" moment.
